Loewy, Raymond (Fernand)
(5 nov. 1893, París, Francia–14 jul. 1986, Mónaco).

Diseñador industrial estadounidense de origen francés. Luego de obtener un título avanzado en ingeniería eléctrica emigró en 1919 a la ciudad de Nueva York, donde trabajó como ilustrador de modas y diseñador de vitrinas para tiendas de departamentos. Abrió su propia firma de diseño en 1929, y entre las décadas de 1930 y 1940 diseñó una variedad de productos domésticos con esquinas redondeadas y perfiles simplificados y "aerodinámicos. Un refrigerador que diseñó para Sears, Roebuck & Co. (1934) ganó el primer premio en la Exposición Internacional de París de 1937. En años posteriores, sus diseños altamente funcionales, aplicables a todo, desde locomotoras hasta dispensadores de gaseosas, ayudaron a configurar el diseño industrial estadounidense.
